CAT to be held in 32 cities


Choose your test site and window for CAT 2009 among the 32 cities. IIMs have announced the Test Centers (called ‘Test Sites’ by IIMs) for CAT 2009. The test sites for CAT 2009 are spread across 32 cities in India. Owing to the need of computer for conducting computer-based exam, the test sites are primarily engineering and management institutes. This marks a shift from past where CAT was held in leading K-12 schools.

The cities are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Durgapur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri and Varanasi.

Once a candidate has bought CAT voucher, they can logon to official CAT site and schedule their exam by choosing the ‘Test Site’, Exam Date and Time. The sale of the CAT vouchers will start from today, i.e. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 and will continue till Thursday, October 1, 2009.

As was mentioned before, CAT 2009 will be held in a window of 10 days, starting from Saturday, November 28 to Monday December 7, 2009. The test will be held in two slots, Session 1, the morning session will be from 10 AM to 12.30 PM. You have to reach the test center within 8 to 8.30 AM and no later than that. The Session 2 of CAT 2009 will take place from 3.30 PM to 6 PM. The candidate commencement will start from 1.30 PM and will continue till 2 PM.
